Cantors

Jackie Perhach

Jackie (Kish) Perhach embraced the Byzantine Rite when she became engaged to her future husband, Andy, in 1969 and became a member of The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Later they moved to St. Pius X Church in Carrick, Pennsylvania until retiring to Nettles Island in Florida. Fortunately there was a Byzantine Church in Ft. Pierce where they became members. Throughout these years, Jackie participated in singing the Liturgy from the pews, learning the Church Slavonic as well as the varied tones and hymns sung in English. She later joined cantor, Ken Hendrickson, harmonizing with him and leading the congregation in the Liturgy. She says that she is grateful for the opportunity to more fully participate in the worship of the Lord Jesus.
